What is the difference between geotextile and impermeable geotextile?
The difference between geotextile and impermeable geotextile geotextile belongs to drainage, generally needle-punched non-woven geotextile, or woven geotextile, impermeable geotextile is waterproof, it is divided into two cloth and a membrane and a cloth and a membrane, according to the design to see how many grams of cloth and how many grams of membrane are needed, the roadbed is permeable and generally uses needle-punched non-woven geotextiles.

Impermeable geotextile, also known as (composite geomembrane), is a geotechnical impermeable material composed of plastic film as an impermeable substrate and non-woven fabric. There are mainly polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyethylene (PE), which are polymer chemical flexible materials with small specific gravity, strong extensibility, high adaptability to deformation, corrosion resistance, low temperature resistance, and good frost resistance.
The main functions of impermeable geotextiles are:
(1) The leakage channel of the earth dam is isolated by the impermeability of plastic film, and the water pressure is borne and the deformation of the dam body is adapted to its large tensile strength and elongation;
(2) Through acupuncture or hot bonding, it has high tensile strength and elongation, and after it is combined with the plastic film, it not only increases the tensile strength and puncture resistance of the plastic film, but also increases the friction coefficient of the contact surface due to the rough surface of the non-woven fabric, which is conducive to the stability of the composite geomembrane and the protective layer.
(3) It has good erosion resistance to bacteria and chemical reactions, and is not afraid of the erosion of acids, alkalis and salts.
(4) The working life can reach 40~50 years under clean water conditions, and 30~40 years under sewage conditions. Therefore, the service life of the composite geomembrane is enough to meet the service life of the dam seepage prevention requirements.
